Bio
Abra Akers Endsley holds a B.A. (1998) in Journalism, with a minor in Women’s Studies and an M.A. (2001) in Communication, focused on diversity from the University of Kentucky. She worked as a fundraiser and development officer for the Newspapers in Education program and Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass for 16 years before joining the Communication Studies faculty here at Eastern Kentucky University. She also previously acted as adjunct faculty at Eastern Kentucky University, Sullivan University and Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
Abra is a graduate of Leadership Lexington, Leadership Central Kentucky and Penn State’s Developing Managerial Effectiveness Executive Program. She has served as the vice chair and chair of the Leadership Lexington Youth Program, and has been a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association Board of Directors since 2011.
