Job Opening: Assistant Professor of Public Relations
The Department of Communication at Eastern Kentucky University is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in public relations beginning August 2017.
A Ph.D., in a relevant field, is required from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution. ABD may be considered.
Candidates should have professional experience in public relations practice and research, ties to the professional community, and demonstrated teaching ability in a variety of public relations, communication, and related courses.
Candidates must also display a consistent record of scholarship in public relations or a related field. Special consideration will be given to candidates with a social/new media research agenda and/or teaching experience.
The successful candidate will teach a four-four course load in the public relations area and will join a dynamic faculty committed to an innovative undergraduate degree program.
We seek individuals with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, ongoing academic research, meaningful service, and visionary program building.
The EKU public relations program is one of only 42 certified by the Public Relations Society of America, and is second to only one other university in the world that has held the certification longer.
