The Bluegrass Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will host a free public forum Feb. 23 titled, “Finding real facts in an alternative fact world."

Day joins Ohio Environmental Council

EKU graduate Zeynab Day sought to combine her knack for investigative journalism with her passion for activism for a career. She realized her goals in February 2017, when she was hired as the Media Relations Coordinator for the Ohio Environmental Council.

Taylor Weiter

EKU junior Taylor Weiter received second place in the Best Sports Column category of the Kentucky Press Association News Contest for her column, “No, I don’t know the linebacker of the 1982 Colts.” The column, published in a 2015 issue of The Eastern Progress, details the trials of a woman sports fan in a male-dominated world.

Lasure lands reporter position at Watauga Democrat.

Recent EKU Journalism grad Kayla Lasure has been hired as a news reporter for the Watauga Democrat, effective Feb. 6. The announcement was made by Editor Anna Oakes.
