Rudick receives Alumni Association Award for Teaching Excellence

Dr. Karen Rudick, professor of communication studies, recently received the Alumni Association’s Award for Teaching Excellence.  Dr. Rudick was recognized at the annual Alumni Awards and Recognition Banquet, a part of the University's annual Alumni Weekend.  

Department Professors Honored

Congratulations to Dr. Karen Rudick, Dr. Jennifer Fairchild and Dr. Kathy Keltner-Previs!

Dr. Rudick has been promoted to the rank of Professor. Both Dr. Fairchild and Dr. Keltner-Previs have been granted tenure and have been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. 

Hansen Awarded Emeritus Faculty Rank

Congratulations to Dr. Liz Hansen! The EKU Board of Regents has approved the recommendation for the Department of Communication chair and Foundation Professor to be awarded the academic status of Faculty Emerita. 

Hansen joins KY Journalism Hall of Fame

Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for the position of Chair, Department of Communication. The Chair reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Applied Arts and Technology and the Dean of the College of Business and Technology.

Eastern Progress wins 10 Kentucky Press Association awards.

Eastern Kentucky University’s student-produced weekly newspaper, The Eastern Progress, captured 10 awards at the 2013 Kentucky Press Association awards banquet on Jan. 24.

Matt Hall wins 2014 Schulte Scholarship.

Congratulations to BEM senior Matt Hall, who has received the Chris Schulte Memorial Scholarship for Spring 2014. The scholarship includes an internship with Hammond Communications Group in Lexington, KY. 

Deadline near for KPA Internship applications!

The deadline for application to the KPA Summer Internship Program is January 27, 2014.  

The Kentucky Press Association awards up to 20 internships each summer with Kentucky newspapers in editorial, advertising, photography and online journalists. Internships are available in both journalism and Public Relations.
