College-Level Exception Forms

Recently the Registrar’s Office revised the College Exception form removing any exceptions that are not processed in their office.  Due to this change we have a new form, CBT Exception Request form.  This form is for College use only and will be available on the N:drive.  In an effort to reduce confusion, below is an explanation of when you would use this form, the College Exception form, and the University Exception form.

CBT Approval Request form

Used for registration overrides or an overload of max hours   

School of Business

  • Use for overload requests when a student has less than a 3.0; if approved Sandy Taylor will email the Registrar’s Office for processing
  • Use for all other types of overrides listed on the form; if approved overrides are entered in Banner by the CBT Advising Office

School of Applied Arts & Technology

  • Use for overload requests when a student has less than a 3.0; if approved Sonia Smith will email the Registrar’s Office for processing
  • Use for second & subsequent repeats; if approved overrides are entered in Banner by the CBT Advising Office
  • Use departmental form/process for all other override requests

College Exception form:  

  • Used for course substitutions, course waivers, 8 year old course work, and other issues as related to a student’s core, major, or supporting requirements
  • Processed by the Registrar’s Office

University Exception form:  http://www.forms.eku.edu/

  • Used for exceptions to University requirements such as general education
